Ramadan

Thanks everyone for your comments. This is an easy way for me to keep in touch with everyone. What's going on here in the Persian Gulf? Well, Ramadan started this week. The ninth month of the Islamic calendar, Ramadan is based on a lunar schedule and changes from year to year. It started on Tuesday in Bahrain and will end on November 2. The muslim world is practically shut down. They don't eat or drink anything during the day. Businesses are keeping shorter hours. Here's a primer on Islam which includes a section on Ramadan. I'll keep my opinions to myself for now. Suffice it to say, it's a fact of life here....
